De Shell Parker

My Commitment

I am deeply rooted in community,

carrying forward a lifelong devotion to the well-being of people, youth and families.

I often speak of the youth in my life as our babies—

a reminder that their flourishing is a shared responsibility.

My work remains anchored in creating conditions where they, and the families who nurture them, can thrive.

~

I also write to teach and to heal.

My memoir series is part of my witness work—an offering of truth-telling and pedagogy, crafted for those who

seek both guidance and permission to raise their own voices.

Through story, I hold space for honesty, liberation, and the possibility of transformation.

About the Founder

I am De Shell Parker — walking alchemy, a healer healing, and a truth‑teller breaking silence. Born and raised in Milwaukee County and a product of Milwaukee Public Schools, I carry a lifelong commitment to the wellbeing of people and communities. I am daughter, mother, teacher, student, executive, author, and coach. My own healing journey turned generational pain into purpose: silence into voice, trauma into testimony. I lead from spirit and lived experience, using my story as the foundation for helping others reclaim voice, sovereignty, and alignment.

Background

I bring more than two decades of public‑service experience in child and family services, program leadership, training, and systems transformation. I hold a Master of Social Work from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and a Master of Science in Human Services: Organizational Management & Leadership from Springfield College. I am a Certified Advanced Practice Social Worker in Wisconsin and an internationally certified life coach with specialty designations in spirituality, executive coaching, and emotional intelligence. I am also pursuing yoga instructor certification as part of my commitment to integrative, healing‑centered practice.

My professional journey has included direct service, case management, mentoring, staff training and supervision, program development, and executive leadership. I have led initiatives in youth justice, designing and strengthening programs that center healing, accountability, and equity. Through Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) practices, I have worked to ensure that programs not only meet immediate needs but also evolve to create lasting impact for young people and families. These experiences have deepened my conviction that advocacy, healing, and systems change must move together—transforming conditions for those most often left at the margins.

My Approach and Philosophy

My work is anchored in the belief that story is medicine and that truth-telling—when held with care—creates liberation. I practice with radical compassion, emotional safety, and rigorous accountability. I do not treat voice as a performance; I help people reclaim voice as an embodied stance of leadership and integrity.

I hold space that is trauma‑informed, culturally attuned, and spiritually respectful. I attend to the nervous system, the emotions, and the practicalities of everyday life at once, because transformation requires integration of body, mind, and spirit.

My Methodology

  • My methodology blends lived experience, clinical knowledge, and spiritual practice into a coherent, repeatable process:

  • Story‑driven curriculum: guided excavation and re-authoring of personal narrative to move from survival to sovereignty.

  • Ritualized reflection: brief, accessible rituals that mark thresholds, anchor practice, and honor emergence.

  • Somatic practices: breathwork, grounding exercises, and movement to regulate the nervous system and embed new habits.

  • Evidence‑informed tools: values mapping, narrative structuring, and assessment‑based insights to pair intuition with strategy.

  • Community witnessing: safe, consent‑based circles where testimony is held and amplified by peers and facilitators.

These elements are woven together to create a container that is both spacious and disciplined, gentle and effective.
